Welcome to No, Seriously... I'm Jen Logan. These are my adventures, experiences and opinions. If you are new to the site and can't decide if you want to send me gifts because you think I am so awesome, or send my husband an escape plan because you feel so bad for him - I recommend a few stories to get to know me.

I listen to great music! I also remember pretty much every life event I have had by what music was streaming in my head at the time.

I screw things up a lot! I'm okay with this. The more you screw things up, the less people ask you to do. The things I am good at, I'm pretty damn good at.

My husband is a saint! He truly is. He has stuck it out with me for almost thirteen years now.

Being a parent is the greatest gift in the World! It is also the messiest and scariest gift I have ever received.

Awesome As I Want To Be

Awesome As I Want To Be

This is what we do for fun in our house. Unfortunately it does not look like I am having fun. I really am, but I am such a bad drummer that I have to focus 100% on counting in my head. It's tough to be in a band with an actual musician and a five year old who channels...

Just When I Think I Have People Figured Out

My husband texted me last week to let me know that the check had arrived from the people who bought our rental property and didn't change the DTE account into their name. I replied with a text that I was happy they did not send a bag of walnuts like I had expected. He...

Everything In It’s Place

Everything In It’s Place

My whole family spent Saturday putting away Christmas decorations and organizing. While I was packing up the snow globes and attempting to get four tons of glitter out of the couch cushions, my husband kept our five year old preoccupied in her playroom organizing. She...

Growth

My husband had a nightmare the other night that I divorced him. In this nightmare I said that he had not changed enough and I was out. He called it a dream rather than a nightmare, but I'm not going to read too much into that. The funniest part about this to me is...

I Can Take You Where You Need To Go

I accidentally signed up to be an Uber driver. I know this seems like something that should not be allowed to happen and I agree. But somehow, I did, in fact sign up. It happened when I was getting ready to go on a company trip. I didn't want to inconvenience anyone...

Like a Fox

I am beginning to think someone is messing with me. We sold our rental property to an elderly couple a few months ago. During the closing process they changed the type of loan they would use to finance the house which delayed the closing. This wouldn't have been a...

My friend and her husband just celebrated their eighteenth wedding anniversary. I would say they are lucky, but anyone who has been married for a significant amount of time knows this isn't true. They worked hard, they compromised, they sacrificed and they drove each...

Someone has to be in charge…

Coloring with my daughter is a little like coloring in a North Korean prison. She doles out the markers you are to use and marks your pages indicating where each color belongs. She hands me one marker at a time, only after she has tested the color to see if she likes...

Ask and You Shall Receive

Ask and You Shall Receive

An interesting thing happens when you put your thoughts into the Universe - it responds. If you want something, you need to ask for it. It seems simple, but I think a lot of us have a hard time doing this. I spent a large portion of my childhood learning to be...

Gratitude

Gratitude

Sometimes I am so full of gratitude that it leaks out of my eyes. And what better day to be grateful than on Thanksgiving. I was standing in my kitchen washing green beans thinking about the people I have met in my life and how grateful I am for all of them, good and...

Down with the Sickness

My five year old has roid rage. She was prescribed Prednisolone for a cough last week. The cough is still around but now it's a little deeper and comes with a punch. Within a few minutes of taking her medicine she is ready to swing at anyone who walks by. It would be...
